Character Dance is a form of Folk Dancing that is found in all classical ballets. It builds coordination, rhythm, and style in our students. Character Dance also prepares our Upper Division students to enter College Dance programs and Professional Ballet Companies.
CBT’s Lower Division
CBT’s Lower Division
CBT’s classes for our lower division comprise correct placement of body, feet, head and arms and the study of the five basic positions and of the elementary movements stemming from them. Correct articulation of techniques and development of music and movement are emphasized.
As students progress through CBT’s syllabi, emphasis is placed on building knowledge of all of the academic technical skills and eventually learning more complex steps and sequences designed to ‘finish’ the elementary ballet student.
Mini Jr. Jazz & Jr. Jazz
Jazz offers an opportunity to explore different dance genres and music which helps the young dancer with musicality, coordination and distinction of style.
Ballet Technique
Ballet Technique, begun at the correct time and through an organized syllabi, is of paramount importance for the Young Dancer to study. All CBT dancers are required to take ballet.
